Wieniawski, Adam Tadeusz

Adam Tadeusz Wieniawski ( Polish: Adam Tadeusz Wieniawski ; November 27, 1876 , Warsaw - April 27, 1950 , Bydgoszcz ) - Polish composer, music teacher and organizer. The son of Alexander Wieniawski, who was the twin brother of Jozef Wieniawski [1] . Nephew also Henryk and Julian Wieniawski.

He studied in Warsaw with Zygmunt Noskovsky (piano) and Henryk Meltzer-Schavinsky (composition), then in Paris with Vincent d'Andy and Gabriel Foret .

In 1928 he headed the Warsaw Music Society and the Frederic Chopin Higher School of Music, working under its patronage, successfully competing with the Warsaw Conservatory . Since 1932 , Chairman of the Union of Polish Composers. In 1935 he founded the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition and became the first chairman of its jury. He was the chairman of the jury at the Second (1932) and Third (1937) Chopin Piano Competitions .
