Biography
Born in the village of Markushi (now in the Kimrsky district of the Tver region ). Initially studied at a parish school. Graduated from the M. Gorky Literary Institute (in 1940 ).
He was a participant in the struggle for Soviet power in the Kalyazinsky district, in 1918 the district commissioner of agriculture and the chairman of the agricultural commune.
Since 1921 he lived in Kimry . In 1921 - 1959 organizer and teacher of accounting courses.
It began to be published in 1928 (the first story, “In the Bathhouse”). Some works were published under the pseudonym M. Sapozhnik. Many works are dedicated to the life of the Kimre artisan shoemakers; all Rybakov’s novels are largely biographical.
Several times successfully performed in Tver literary associations.
Died and buried in Kimry .
