Karo Kahkeczhyan ( Arm. Կարո Քահքեջյան ), Spitak Arch (Polar Bear) ( 1962 - June 26, 1993 ) - military leader, participant in the Karabakh war , commander of the Crusaders volunteer unit.

Biography
Karo Kahkejyan was born in 1962 in the city of Aleppo ( Syria ). He lived in the USA. An architect graduated in Germany. In 1980 he entered the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Frankfurt University of Engineering ( German: Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main ). He was fluent in Armenian, English, French, German, Spanish, Turkish, Kurdish and Arabic.
After the Spitak earthquake, he first arrived in Armenia . He was engaged in assisting the affected areas, attracting funds from the Armenian diaspora .
Karo Kakhkejyan organized the “Crusaders” detachment, participated in the battles near Martuni , Hadrut , Mardakert , Lachin and Kelbajar .
During the battle for heights, “Pushken Yal” fought with his squad, holding the heights until the arrival of Armenian forces. Karo Kahkejyan died on June 26, 1993 in the battles near Mardakert near the village of Magauz. He was buried on Yerablur .
In 2010, the feature film "The Ghost of the Polar Bear" was shot, dedicated to the memory of Karo Kakhkejyan [1] .
