Chebyshev ( lat. Chebyshev ) - a crater on the far side of the moon . Diameter - 180 km, center coordinates - name of the great Russian mathematician Pafnutius Chebyshev . This name was approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1970 [1] .

Chebyshev is an ancient crater: it was formed in the nectar period . It shows emissions from the impact that formed the basin of the East Sea [2] . It is substantially destroyed by subsequent strikes and dotted with smaller craters. It borders the southeastern edge with half the Langmuir crater. The Chebyshev Val is flattened, and in some places is terraced and collapsed inward; a particularly large landslide is located on its border with Langmuir. The bottom is uneven with a small central slide; no lava cover and cracks. It does not have a radiation system; it is located on the mainland [3] .
