Biography
He made his debut in 1983 with a story called “Cyberpunk”, which later gave the name to a whole subgenre of science fiction - cyberpunk . Nevertheless, the work of Betke himself (including this story) does not apply to cyberpunk.
The first novel - “Maverick” ( 1990 ) was written based on the plot development of Isaac Asimov . A significant novel is considered to be "Headcrash" ( 1995 , Russian translation - " Interface on the table "). He was awarded the Philip Dick Prize .
He is also a novelist for Barry Sonnenfeld ’s Wild, Wild West .
The writer himself considers his work more likely a hobby, which he does in his spare time. Currently lives in the suburbs of Minneapolis - Pig's Eye Landing ( Minnesota ).
