In 1987 , an experimental two-section freight diesel locomotive 2TE126-0001 was manufactured on the basis of the TE136 locomotive. Each diesel locomotive section has a sixteen-cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 6000 hp; diameter and piston stroke of a diesel engine 320 mm. The section body rests on two five-axle bogies, each of which consists of two biaxial bogies and a runner wheel pair; runner wheelsets are located at the ends of each section. Traction motors have a supporting frame suspension; they are fed by rectified current from synchronous traction generators. During long-term operation, the locomotive's traction force is 2 脳 48,000 kg, and the speed is 25.6 km / h. The structural speed of the diesel locomotive is 100 km / h, weight 2 脳 230 tons. The diesel locomotive 2TE126-0001 was demonstrated at the exhibition "Railway Transport - 89".
The fate of the locomotive
After the collapse of the USSR, the diesel locomotive returned to Ukraine, to the Lugansk (Voroshilovgrad) plant. The unique locomotive was unclaimed, and for a long time stood on the territory of the plant in an abandoned state. The last known photograph with him is dated May 1997. When the locomotive was transported in a hot condition, a fire occurred, one section was completely burned out, and the second was transported to the laboratory building in Khabarovsk at the Far Eastern State Transport University and dismantled for training students.
