Al-Ahram [2] ( Arabic. الأهرام , literal translation: “Pyramids” ) is the largest Egyptian newspaper. It was founded in 1875 by immigrants from Lebanon Beshara and Salim Thekla and was originally a weekly newspaper published in Alexandria . Two months later, Al-Ahram became daily, and in November 1899 its editors moved to Cairo . At different times, prominent Egyptian writers collaborated with her, in particular, Nobel laureate Nagib Mahfouz . Al-Ahram also has versions in English (Al-Ahram Weekly) and French (Al-Ahram Hebdo).
