Kokhanovsky, Igor Vasilievich

He graduated from the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute (MISI) . Kuybysheva , worked in the specialty.

In 1964 he left for Magadan , from 1965 to 1968 he worked in the newspaper Magadan Komsomolets, then he was a prospector in Chukotka.

Back in the early 1950s, he began to get involved in playing the seven-string guitar, on which almost the entire repertoire of Alexander Vertinsky was performed ^[1] . After some time, he taught his friend and classmate Vladimir Vysotsky to play it, who later, following Kokhanovsky, went to IISS, but only studied for one semester at this university ^[2] . Vysotsky performed Kokhanovsky’s songs “Indian Summer” and “Oriole” ^[3] , and then dedicated five of his songs to him (“My friend went to Magadan”, “I saw the Nagaev Bay”, “I recently received a letter”, “What today I courts and hearings ... ”,“ My friend returned unexpectedly ... ”) ^[4] .

Kokhanovsky wrote the texts of a number of songs ^[5] , performed by stars of the Soviet and Russian pop music, from Claudia Shulzhenko and Lyudmila Zykina to Sofia Rotaru . He composed a lot of songs for Anna German , also was engaged in translating texts of Polish songs ^{[6] [7]} . He collaborated with rock groups “Carnival” , “Speaker” , “Araks” , with many VIA.

• Vladimir Matetskiy ^[9]

The name of Kokhanovsky sounded in full force - songs on his poems were performed by almost all the pop stars of those years, especially vocal and instrumental ensembles of the 70-80s (this is confirmed by the program of the proposed album). These songs are still alive. It is interesting that the most notorious “ banter ” lovers are not able to “pin” these songs - they are higher than this. I do not detract from the importance of music - and indeed, the melodies were amazing - but still the Word has always been (and still is) determining for a Russian person.

Friendship from childhood connected Kokhanovsky and Vysotsky. “My friend went to Magadan ...” is Vysotsky about Kokhanovsky. “A friend like you gives life only once ...” is Kokhanovsky about Vysotsky, and, probably, he alone has the moral right to write these lines.

Their fates are somewhat similar, as their faces are somewhat similar. Kokhanovsky did not become an actor and singer, but he became a real poet. His poems of recent years have become a real revelation for me: the work of the “songwriter” is no easier, but great poetry is already without accompaniment and arrangements.

If my memory serves me, “to bounce” in Ukrainian means “to love”. This is exactly the feeling that I feel for Igor Kokhanovsky - a poet and a man.
