It was created in 2000 on the basis of the Orsk South Ural Machine-Building Plant (Yuzhuralmash). The plant was built in 1942, and in 1992 was transformed into a joint stock company. Since 2007 - as part of the Uralmash MK.
Until February 5, 2015, 99.97% of the concern's shares belonged to Alisher Usmanov 's Metalloinvest holding. [one]
The concern specializes in the production of equipment for the metallurgical industry. Revenues in 2005 - 1.7 billion rubles. The volume of production is 27 thousand tons of mechanical products, 20 thousand tons of which are machinery and equipment for the metallurgical industry. In February 2015, ORMETO-UUMZ Engineering Concern was acquired by RailTransHolding. From now on, the factory returned its former name: now it is not ORMETO-UUMZ, but simply UUMZ.
