A men's performance with athletic clubs as part of the gymnastics program was held at the 1904 Summer Olympics .
The event was held at Francis Field from the University of Washington at St. Louis
(Francis Field della Washington University di Saint Louis.).
Each participant had five minutes to complete the exercises with two clubs weighing three pounds (about 1.5 kg).
There were three judges in the jury, each giving an assessment of up to five points.
This was the only time a competition with athletic clubs took place, although a men's Indian clubs performance “Indian clubs” was held at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Without a qualifying round, gymnasts competed directly for medals.
An unknown number of gymnasts competed, and only three, all from the USA, are known.
The competition was held on Friday, October 28, 1904.
