Syr-Darya district is an administrative-territorial unit of the Kazak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic that existed in 1928 - 1930 .

Syr-Darya district was formed on January 17, 1928 from parts of the Akmola , Semipalatinsk and Syr-Daria provinces. The center of the district was the city of Chimkent . The district was divided into 21 districts:

On June 19, 1928, the center of the Karatassky region was transferred to the village of Sharapkhan , and the center of the Mankentsko-Sairam district - to the village of Sairam.
June 23, 1928 Chui district was renamed Muyun-Kumsky district .
On December 17, 1930, the district, like all other districts of the Kazak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, was abolished, its areas were enlarged and transferred directly to the republican authorities.
