History

When these places were part of the Khitan empire of Liao , then in these places was the province of Suzhou (苏州). After the Jin empire was replaced by the Jurchen empire of Jin, the Suzhou region was transformed into Huacheng County (化成 县) in 1143, and in 1216, Huacheng County was elevated and became the Jinzhou Province (金 州) - this is how it appeared this is the name.

During the Qing Empire , Ninghai County (宁海 县) was established in 1734. In 1843, it was transformed into the Jinzhou Commissariat (金 州 厅). After renting the Kwantung region by Tsarist Russia, for some time it remained the center of the Chinese authorities in the region.

In May 1904, one of the battles of the Russo-Japanese War took place in these places.

When, after the Xinhai Revolution, a reform of the administrative-territorial structure was carried out in China, from which the commissariats were excluded, in 1913 the Jinzhou Commissariat was formally transformed into Jinxiang (金 县) County, Fengtian Province, but since at that time this territory was under management of the Japanese authorities, in reality, this transformation was not reflected in anything.

After the end of the Second World War, the county continued to be part of the Kwantung region , and after the formation of the PRC and the transfer of the Kwantung region to the Chinese authorities in 1950, it was under the jurisdiction of the city of central subordination of LiuDa. In 1955, LiuDa came under the jurisdiction of the authorities in Liaoning Province, and Jinxiang became a county in Liaoning Province, the administration of which was delegated by the provincial authorities to the city of LiuDa. In 1959, the county came under the control of the authorities of the city of LuDa. In 1966, the Liaonan Special Region (辽 南 专区) was formed in Liaoning Province, and the county became part of it, but in December 1968 it was returned to LuDang, which in 1981 became the city of Dalian.

In 1987, Jinxian County was disbanded, and instead a district of Jinzhou city subordination was formed.
