Taylor Swift was born December 13, 1989 in Reading , and grew up in Wyomissing , Pennsylvania , USA . She was greatly influenced by Shania Twain [21] , Lianne Rimes and her grandmother, opera singer Marjorie Finlay [22] . At 10, Taylor had already performed in fairs, festivals and sporting events in her hometown Wyomissing. She sang the national anthem at the opening of the 76th Philadelphia Games at the age of 12, and her performance appealed to the public [23] .
