Mokaev, Magomet Khasuevich

Mokaev Magomet Khasuevich ( Karach. -Bulk. Mokalany Khasuunu Zhasha Magomet ; June 15, 1939 - December 4, 2006 ) - Balkarian poet, folklorist, journalist. Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (since 1964). People's poet of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic , People's poet of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic , laureate of the State Prize of the KBR in the field of literature.

Biography

Born in the village of Verkhny Baksan, Elbrus district, Kabardino-Balkarian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic .

He graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Kabardino-Balkarian State University and the Department of Journalism at the University (1964), Higher Literary Courses at the Union of Writers of the USSR (1967).

He began his career as a proofreader, then as a literary employee of the newspaper Kommunizmge zhol , was an editor on television, an editor of the Shuehluk almanac, and an editor of the department of the children's magazine Nyur .

Since 1964 - a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR .

Since 1998 he was the editor-in-chief of Mingi-Tau magazine.

He died on December 4, 2006 in a Moscow clinic.
