Balov, Mukhadin Fitsevich

Mukhadin Fitsevich Balov ( December 25, 1923 , Kenzhe village, Kabardino-Balkarian Autonomous Okrug - 1984 , Nalchik ) - Kabardian composer , the first to put folk Adyghe music on sheet music.

Biography

Muhadin Balov was born on December 25, 1923 in the village of Kenzhe, Kabardino-Balkarian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1946–50 he studied at the Leningrad Conservatory in composition class (supervisor - Yu. V. Kochurov).

Over the years, he taught at the Nalchik Music School, was the conductor of the city brass band.

He created the first Kabardian national opera - Madina (jointly with X. Ya. Kardanov, 1970, Musical Theater, Nalchik).

  • Oratorio "Songs of My Homeland" (1967);
  • Requiem (1965);
  • for orc. - symphony (1968);
  • Symphonietta (1966);
  • 2 suites - “Kyzburun” (1959) and “Kanamat and Kasbulat” (1961);
  • The poems “Kabardino-Balkaria” (1963), “In the Donskoy Steppe” (1964), “Eternally Alive” (1965), “Red Dzhigits” (1970);
  • for children choir and soloist - suite “We Will Live in Communism” (1963);
  • marches and plays for brass band, romances, songs.
