Classification
In addition to the following genera and species, fossil tribes and genus are known (Antropov, 2000): † Apodolichurini Antropov, 2000 († Apodolichurus ), † Cretampulicini Antropov, 2000 († Cretampulex ), † Mendampulicini Antropov, 2000 († Mendampulex ). And also fossils of the genus (without specifying tribes): † Cariridris , † Gallosphex , † Longivenula .
In 2010, as a result of the reclassification of the family, the subfamilies Ampulicinae ( Ampulex and Trirogma ) and Dolichurinae were distinguished, consisting of two monophyletic tribes: Dolichurini ( Dolichurus and Paradolichurus ) and Aphelotomini ( Aphelotoma and Riekefella ). [2]
