Government in exile

The exiled government is a “government-like” political group that proclaims itself to be the legitimate government of the country, but for various reasons does not have real power in the territory over which it claims control. Exiled governments usually operate with the expectation that someday in the future they will return to their countries and gain power there.

Exiled governments often arise from coups, civil wars, and military occupations.

Examples of Exile Governments
