Mezen Potashevs

Most likely, the Potashevs came to Mezen from the Permogorsk volost of the Ustyuzh district already with a surname, but recorded them only by patronymic. Erofei Semenovich (settlement - 1647) became the first Mezen in the Potashev family. His children: Stepan, Fedot, Athanasius, Erofei, Nicephorus, Andrew. According to the census of 1748, there are already 15 families in Leshukoniya Potashevs.

Anatoly Novikov in his book examined three branches of the Potashov clan: Leshukonsky , Zashchelsky and Keslomskaya.

Leshukonsky branch: Semen - Erofei - Fedot - Larion - Mina (1690) - Savin (1734) - Lavrenti (1782) - Paul (1812) - Efim (1835) - Michael - Ivan (1906) - Fedor (1928) - Alexander ( 1955).

The Phelsky branch: Erofei - Nicephorus - Nason - Ivan (1703) - Zotik (1722) - Iev (1757) - Jacob (1791) - Ivan (1823) - Andreyan (1858) - Jacob (1899) - Benjamin (1928).

Keslom branch: Erofei - Fedot - Larion - Ivan (1702) - Kondratius (1750) - Vasily (1776) - Danilo (1802) - Spiridon (1823) - Ivan (1881) - Lazarus (1902) - Anatoly (1931).

In the Great Patriotic War , 48 Potashevs died.
