Biography
Club career
Laval was born in the Nigerian city of Kaduna . But a football career began much further from his hometown. In Lagos, he played at the local club Julius Berger . It was in the colors of this team at the age of 17 that he made his debut in the first league and gradually became a member of the main team. In 1995 he moved to Tunisia, where he played for Esperance, in Tunisia he won 3rd place with the team.
The first club in Europe was the Dutch Roda , which he joined in 1996. In the league he made his debut on July 15, 1997 in the match “Roda” - “ Twente ” (1: 3). In total, he played 154 matches for Roda and scored 20 goals. In the summer of 2002, he ended his contract with Rod, and he signed a contract with one of the most titled clubs in Bulgaria, Levski , where his compatriot Justis Christopher played. He played 15 matches in a season, but could not gain a foothold and, leaving Bulgaria, remained without a club until the end of 2003.
In the winter of 2004, some media outlets reported that Garba allegedly signed a contract with Columbus Crew . But in 2004, he played in Sweden for Elfsborg , with whom he signed a 2-year contract. In Allsvenskan made his debut on April 5 in a match with Ergruet .

He began his career in the national team with a youth team. In 1996, he played at the Atlanta Olympics . There he played in all matches, including the semi-final with Brazil (4: 2) and the final with Argentina (3: 2), and won the first ever gold medal among African teams.
He also played at the World Championships in France , where he became famous for a goal against the Spaniards , turning the tide of the meeting and oiling the ending of Andoni Subisarreta’s career [3] . In 2000, he took part in the African Cup of Nations in Ghana . In the same year he played at the Olympic Games in Sydney . In 2002, he played at the Nations Cup in Mali .
