Hard hatsania ( lat. Gazania rigens ) - a plant of the Astro family , growing in South Africa and Mozambique , and also cultivated elsewhere, as a decorative one, because it has a bright, often variegated, color (white, yellow, orange, red, brown) .

In Australia, it has naturalized on coastal dunes and verges.

The plant prefers sunny places, but it can tolerate poverty and dry soil.

A distinctive feature of the plant is the ability of flowers to open fairly quickly in the light and close in the shade.
