Tomoko Fuse ( Jap. 布施 知 子 Fuse Tomoko , born in 1951 in Niigata Prefecture ) is a Japanese origami designer and author of many books on this art. Fuse is an honorary member of the British Origami Society ( English British Origami Society ), OrigamiUSA and the Japanese Origami Association ( Jap. 日本 折紙 協会 ) [1] .

The most famous are its modular works: caskets-tsuzura ( jap. 籠 , “box”, “suitcase”) , kusudama , various polygons, spirals, rings. However, it also creates classic models, masks, toys. The first book with the schemes of Fuse was published in 1981 [2] , and by 2009 more than sixty books were published, which translate into English, German, Italian, and Korean.
Tomoko has been making her own models since 1970, when she began studying with origami master Toyoaki Kawai [3] . Her works are based on rigorous mathematical principles , they do not use glue - such models can be automatically folded by a machine [4] .
Fuse now lives with her husband in Nagano Prefecture , but often travels around the world to meet origami lover societies and takes part in exhibitions.
