Geet (cycling)

A git is a type of individual time trial bike race . Start can be carried out on the spot or on the move. The task of the cyclist is the fastest overcoming of the distance due to the fastest development of maximum speed and maintaining it to the finish line.

Classic git - a race with a start from a standpoint at a distance of 1000 meters for men, for 500 - for women. Until 2008, it was an Olympic discipline. From 2012 to 2016, he was part of the omnium .

Previously (until 2016), races in this discipline were conducted as regular final races. Currently, competitions are held in two stages:

  1. Qualification races, as a result of which 8 cyclists with the best time are selected;
  2. Final races in which each rider starts separately.

200 meter

200 meter round - a race with a start on the move at a distance of 200 meters, conducted to select riders in the sprint .

Depending on the length of the track, the following distances are provided for accelerating the rider:

If athletes show the same result, then their places are determined by the travel time of the last 100 meters. If this is not possible, then the riders' places are determined by drawing lots.
