Biography

Born on April 15, 1956 . He was the seventh child in a missionary family in Costa Rica, with a total of 13 children. He enrolled at Rockmont College (today he is called the Christian University of Colorado) under a football scholarship program. There he also played for the basketball team, but soon he became one of the rare players on the court. Therefore, after some time I took up ski jumping. Despite his inexperience, he quickly began earning most of the points for the national team in ski sports. Ski judges supported him in his desire to continue playing sports.

After graduating from college in 1979 with a degree in Biblical Studies, he continued to practice alpine skiing. In order to continue his career in sports, he needed to participate in international competitions and, above all, qualify for the Olympic Games. Since the national federations of ski sports are engaged in nominating athletes, and, at that time, there was no such federation in Costa Rica, in 1978 he founded the Costa Rican Ski Association. In Lake Placid, Kinch became the first and only representative of Costa Rica in skiing. Subsequently, he remained the only representative of Costa Rica in skiing, representing the country at the 1984 Winter Olympics, the 1988 Winter Olympics, the 2002 Winter Olympics and the 2006 Winter Olympics . In 2004, Kinch entered the hall of fame of the Colorado Christian University.

Kinch lives in Denver and has a daughter.
