Biography
She was born on December 25, 1914 in the village of Tetyakovka, now Novomoskovsky District, Tula Region, in a working class family. Russian.
She graduated from the Moscow College of Milling Industry . Worked in a factory. In 1938 she graduated from the Moscow flying club, in 1940 - the Kherson military aviation school of pilots . She was an instructor pilot in the Frunze Aero Club of Moscow. By this time, at twenty-three years old, she was already a rather experienced instructor, having released several groups of cadets in two years of work at the Frunze Aero Club of Moscow.
In the Red Army since October 1941. In 1942 she graduated from courses at the military aviation school of pilots. On the fronts of World War II from May 1942. The commander of the 46th guards night bomber aviation regiment (325th night bomber air division, 4th air army, 2nd Belorussian front) guards senior lieutenant I. F. Sebrova made 1004 night combat sorties to bomb the enemy troops [1] .
Ira Sebrova made the regiment more than all sorties - 1004, even scary to pronounce. I think that all over the world you can’t find a pilot with so many sorties. And she was a quiet, modest, seemingly not bright girl. After the war, Sebrova's husband, Sasha Khomenko, told me how he surpassed Irina's car from repair to the regiment. Sasha then served as an engineer in a repair shop (PARM). We sent planes there when the engine life was exhausted or the car needed repair after shelling. The plane was restored and returned to the front.
Sasha flew to the airport in Ivanovo, and Ira began to test the car. Sasha got into the second cabin. We agreed that she would not do a loop, so he was not attached. And suddenly he sees that she began to make a loop, forgot that he is not attached. "I grabbed onto the sides of the cab when I was upside down - I almost fell out."
Obviously, Ira remembered him, quickly dropped, sat down on the landing, jumped out of the cab and went to the checkpoint ... “I taxied the car into the parking lot,” Sasha continued to tell, “I also went to the command post. I see Ira sitting on a bench, holding her head in her hands and telling me: “If you fell out, what would I say to the regiment commander?” ... ”
