Vladimir Sergeyevich Pudov (born July 13, 1952 ) is a former president of the Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Augsburg Confession in Russia (since 2007).

Biography

Born in Bukhara . In 1981-1987 he studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov . In 1987-1991 he was a member of the Council for Religious Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the USSR , where he participated in the study of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and the registration of the Hare Krishna movement in the USSR. In 1991 he turned to Lutheranism [1] .

From 1992 to 1995 he worked as a director of a construction company. Since 1995 he is the head of the representative office of ELKRAS in Moscow. Since 1996, he has been acting as a member of the Council for Cooperation with Religious Organizations under the President of the Russian Federation . In 2000 he graduated from the Lutheran theological seminary in St. Petersburg . In 2001, Vladimir Putin awarded Pudov the Order of Friendship [2] . In 2006, he resigned from all posts in ELKRAS and announced his intention to create a separate Lutheran church [3] .

Together with Konstantin Adreyev and other ministers, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Augsburg Confession (ELC AI) was registered, which subsequently began to exist as an independent Lutheran church, open for communication with other churches. [ significance of fact? ]
