Geography
It is located in the upper reaches of the Plavitsy River, on which it received the bulk of its name. The definition of the Upper is given in contrast to the village of Lower Favorite (now Belonosovka , Lipetsk region ).
The Shaggy Lake is located southwest of Upper Star.
