History
ALG appeared in 1986 after the merger of the Great Lakes Mink Association (GLMA) and the Mink Breeders Association (EMBA). The first association was formed in 1941 in the Great Lakes region , for which it got its name. GLMA specialized in the production of American black mink under the brand name BlackGlama, which soon became world famous. In 1968, the largest advertising campaign in the world of fashion began - a series of glossy pictures of Hollywood stars ( Barbra Streisand , Loreen Bacall , Judy Garland , Bette Davis ) dressed in BlackGlama products was released. The slogan of the company was the phrase “ What Becomes a Legend Most ”? (" What goes the legend most? ").
The EMBA was founded in 1942 . It included farmers specialized in breeding minks with different shades of fur. Brands created by these manufacturers: Autumn Haze (brown), Desert Gold (light brown), Argenta (gray), Cerulean (blue), Lutetia (metallic), Azurene (pale gray), Jasmine (white), Tourmaline (pale beige), Arcturus (beige) and Diadem (pale brown).
In 2015, Dale Theisen, vice president of the American Legend auction , paid a visit to Russia in order to personally get acquainted with the main major players in the Russian fur market. Dale Theisen visited the Marina Morozova Fur House, KALAYAEV chain of stores, etc. The reason for the visit is due to strategic objectives: the possibility of direct and detailed interaction with manufacturers, promotion of the best varieties of fur on the market, building a viable and long-term procurement and sales strategy, and obtaining high-quality feedback - Directly from the manufacturer, and not through statistics and ratings.
