General characteristics
Hanto is a sewage lake with a flowing Hanayahu River. In the western and southern parts two nameless streams flow into the lake.
The lake has a morphologically expressed lake terrace, closely adjacent to the floodplain of the Nankpyoh River. Relatively high and steep sandy slopes are observed in the south- and northeastern parts of the asymmetric basin of the lake, and in the western part there are low and gentle slopes. The surrounding territory is occupied by taiga , swamps adjoin the northern part [1] .
Fauna
The ichthyofauna is represented by aquatic species of fish, but the lake does not have much fishery significance [2] due to anthropogenic impact [1] .
Ecology
In the western part of the lake, the coastal part of the lake was deepened with a hydraulic wash and an artificial beach was equipped, which led to a redistribution of the hydrological regime. The main source of pollution was a stream flowing into the southern part of the lake, flowing through the garage complex. Bathing in a reservoir due to the high level of water pollution was prohibited [2] .
Recreational Use
On the south coast of Hanto, the Ozerny sanatorium was built.
In September 2015, the Yamal District Center for the Spiritual and Moral Development of Children and Youth was opened on the lake .
