Geography

Area 1120 km² (16th among districts). The district borders in the north with Yaroslavsky and Nekrasovsky , in the south and west with Rostov , in the northwest with the Borisoglebsky districts of the Yaroslavl region, as well as with the Kostroma region in the east and the Ivanovo region in the southeast.

The total area of ​​water resources is 851 ha (including rivers - 263 ha). [3] The main rivers are Kotorosl , Lakhost .
