Came from the nobility of the Minsk province ; Born in 1794. Having graduated from the course in the 2nd Cadet Corps , Shirmo-Shcherbinsky February 2, 1809 joined the 17th Jaeger Regiment .

He participated in the Turkish War of 1809-1810. , in the Patriotic War of 1812 and in the Foreign Campaigns of 1813 and 1814. , for the difference in 1813 received the Order of St. Anne 4th degree with the inscription "For courage."

In 1821 he was dismissed from service for his wounds, and in 1822 he returned to duty. He participated in the Turkish campaign of 1828-1829. where he was badly wounded; in 1828 received the Order of St. 3rd degree Anna with a bow. Then he served in the Life Guards Jaegers , and then the Finnish Regiments .

He took part in the suppression of the Polish rebellion of 1831 and was at the assault on Warsaw . In 1831 he was awarded the Order of St. 4th degree Vladimir with a bow, and then on December 12, 1832 received the Order of St. George 4th degree for the immaculate length of service for 25 years in officer ranks (No. 4689 according to the list of Grigorovich - Stepanov).

Since 1835, Shirmo-Shcherbinsky held commandant posts, first in Grodno , then in Bialystok, and, finally, in 1842 he was appointed commandant to Krasnoye Selo , which he held until his death. In 1851 he was promoted to major general , and in 1865 to lieutenant general , he died on April 22, 1867.
