Drift cone

Death Valley Takeaway Cone

Bearing cone is a relief form that has the appearance of a slightly convex semiconus. It is formed from loose clastic material ( river or alluvium ) in the estuarine part of temporary water flows and small rivers , or when they exit from the mountains to foothill plains , or from gorges to a wider valley .

The drift cone is formed because sediment deposition occurs when water velocity decreases due to changes in the surface slope. Often, settlements are located on it.
