Name Origin
The street was named in 1974 in memory of Otto Karlovich Virzemnek (Verzemnek) (1893-1917) - a worker at the Russkaya Mashina factory, a communist, commander of the Red Guard detachment, an active participant in the October Revolution who died during the capture of the Moscow Telephone Station and Post Office. The street was listed either Verzemnek, then Virzemnek, since his last name was written in different ways. The name was transferred from the liquidated street in Rostokin , which until 1928 was called Churilin Lane - by the name of the homeowner.
Location
Verzemneka Street begins as an extension of Schepkin Street from Trifonovskaya Street and runs north parallel to Gilyarovsky Street to Suschevsky Val at the Riga Flyover opposite the Riga Station .
