Acetomepregenol

Acetomepregenol ( lat.Acetomepregenol ) (3beta, 17alpha-Di (acetyloxy) -6-methylpregn-4,6-dien-20-one) INN was not assigned - the drug , the original Soviet drug, hormonal, progestogen. It is one of the active ingredients of the contraceptive " Egestrenol " ( Ethinyl estradiol + Acetomepregenol).

History

Acetomepregenol was developed in the USSR at the Sergo Ordzhonikidze All-Union Scientific-Research Chemical-Pharmaceutical Institute (now OJSC TsKhLS-VNIHFI ). It is allowed for medical use by order of the Ministry of Health of the USSR dated 06/13/1986 No. 853. By order of the Government of Russia dated 04.15.1996 No. 478 was included in the List of Essential and Essential Medicines . In the new edition of the List , approved by the order of the Government of Russia dated March 29, 2007 No. 376-r, acetomepregenol does not appear.

Physical and chemical properties

Crystalline powder , white or white with a yellowish or cream tint, is readily soluble in chloroform and acetone , slightly soluble in alcohol , practically insoluble in water.

Pharmacological action

Progestogen , in terms of action many times greater than progesterone .

Application

Miscarriage (habitual and threatening in the first trimester of pregnancy), menstrual irregularities (in the menopause and in women who have not given birth in the childbearing period), oral contraception .

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, cholestasis , hypercoagulation , neoplasms.

Side

Insomnia, nausea, headache, engorgement of the mammary glands, allergic reactions (urticaria).

Dosage and administration

Inside, regardless of food intake; threatening miscarriage - 0.5-1 mg 1-3 times a day for 7-10 days, then the dose is gradually reduced and after 3-7 days the treatment is stopped; prevention of miscarriage - 0.5-1 mg 2-3 times a day for 6 days, then at the same dose 1-2 times a day for 3 days, then 0.5 mg every other day for 3 days; habitual miscarriage - 0.5-2 mg for 1-2 months (course 30-60 mg); dysfunctional uterine bleeding - 0.5-2.5 mg / day from 15 to 24 days of the cycle, if necessary, increase the dose to 5 mg / day, after reaching the effect, reduce the dose to 0.5-1 mg / day or less (treatment carried out for 3-6 cycles); oral contraception - 0.5 mg / day at night (continuous regimen). The duration of treatment is no more than 1 year.
