Flavia ( lat. Flavus - golden, blond) is an ancient Roman name meaning "blond, golden-haired". This is the female form of the Roman name of the Flavius dynasty. The name is mostly common in Italy and in Spanish-speaking countries.
In Orthodoxy and in the Catholic Church, Flavius and Flavius Domitilos are the names of saints. Princess Flavia is the name of the main character in Anthony Hope ’s novel “The Prisoner of Zenda”.
