Leopardus pajeros [1] [2] (lat.) Is a small cat from the pampas regions of Argentina and Chile [1] , also found in the Andes (Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador). Until recently, it was considered a subspecies of the Pampass cat [1] .

Body length from 46 to 75 cm, tail length from 23 to 29 cm. Weight from 3 to 6 kg. The color of the fur varies from reddish to gray-brown, the limbs are striped [3] .
Night predator. The basis of the diet consists of rodents from the families of hamsters and tuco-tuco , less often small lizards and birds [4] .
It lives in pampas, as well as in meadows, in bushes and dry forests at an altitude of 5000 meters above sea level [5] .
