History
Since the time of the state of Silla, the place of Anson has been the settlement of Nehehol. Anson was formed on December 29, 1913 by the merger of three small settlements. In 1998, Anson was given city status (si). [one]
Geography
Anson is located in the south of Gyeonggi-do province, in the west it borders with the city of Pyeongtaek , in the northeast - with Icheon , in the south - with Cheonan , in the north - with Yongin . The landscape is hilly, the highest point is Mount Sovunsan (547 m), another high mountain is Chharyonsan. Low mountains occupy 52% of the entire territory subordinated to the city. The river system is represented by small rivers Ansongan and Chkorengan, originating in the local mountains. Solid granite rocks of the Jurassic period prevail geologically. In the north of the city is the gneiss of the Cambrian period .
The climate differs little from the typical climate of the Korean Peninsula : there are four pronounced seasons. Winter is relatively cool and dry. The summer is wet and warm. The average temperature of August is 24-26 ° C, the average temperature of January is 3-5 ° C. The average annual rainfall (1990-1999) was 1315.7 mm.

Tourism and Attractions
- Buddhist temples of Chiljans [4] , Soknamsa [5] and Cheonnensa. In 1989, several paintings from Chiljans Temple were included in the list of National Treasures of Korea under number 269.
