Stepan Mikhailovich Kirichuk (born May 18, 1949 , Brest Region ) is a Russian politician. Member of the scientific and editorial board of the Great Tyumen Encyclopedia ( 2004 ) [1] .

Biography

In 1968, after graduating from the Brest College of Railway Transport [2], he began to work as a repair worker at the track machine station No. 170 in Tyumen . From 1968 to 1970 he served in the Soviet Army . Since 1970 he continued to work in the Tyumen distance path. He was a traveling worker, [3] then a foreman, foreman, chief engineer, and since 1977 - the head of the Tyumen distance track.

In 1985 he graduated from the Ural Electromechanical Institute of Railway Engineers . [3] In the same year, he was appointed deputy head of the Tyumen branch of the Sverdlovsk Railway . [2]

In 1990-1991 - Chairman of the Kalinin District Council of People's Deputies. From 1991 to 1993 - Chairman of the Tyumen City Council of People's Deputies.

From January 1993 to March 16, 1996 - the head of the administration of the city of Tyumen .

Until March 2005 - the head of the city of Tyumen. [four]

He was elected to the governing bodies of the Union of Russian Cities, the Association of Siberian and Far Eastern Cities, the Association of the City of the Urals. He was president of the Association of Municipalities of the Tyumen Region. Full member of the Municipal Academy of the Russian Federation. [2] [3]

From March 2005 to September 17, 2018 - Member of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, representative from the administration of the Tyumen Region. From November 25, 2011 to September 14, 2014 - Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on the Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Affairs (then - First Deputy of this Committee).

In September 2018, he was elected to the Tyumen City Duma as a self-nominated candidate. Chairman of the Permanent Commission of the City Duma on urban public administration [5] .

In July 2006, he was elected President of the All-Russian Congress of Municipalities. [6] [7]

He was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples , the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” IV degree, the medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” II degree, the medal “For the development of mineral resources and the development of the oil and gas complex of Western Siberia” and the Certificate of Merit of the President of the Russian Federation .

Married, has two sons.
