After the army, Brekotkin studied at USTU - UPI at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (mechanical processing of non-ferrous metals). According to the artist himself, he made his choice, first of all, because of a small competition (only 0.8 people per place). At the Edelweiss student construction team, Brekotkin met with Sergei Ershov and Dmitry Sokolov , who invited him to play for the Ural dumplings university team. As part of the team, Brekotkin became the champion of the Highest League of KVN 2000. The year before, the team won "Kivina in the Light" at the music festival in Jurmala .

Dmitry never graduated from the institute: he was expelled for absenteeism and poor academic performance. After being expelled from the institute, Brekotkin began working on a construction site - he began as an assistant to the plasterer, quickly mastered a dozen specialties - from mason to finishing. He became the foreman, and then the master of construction and installation works. All this time he combined work with performances of the Ural dumplings. At some point, Dmitry faced a choice: construction or KVN. Brekotkin could not decide for a long time, but in the end he preferred creativity.

After that, he began to gain popularity as an actor and television presenter . In 2007-2009 Dmitry appeared regularly in the Show News project on TNT, a humorous sketch show created by the Ural Dumplings creative team for Comedy Club Production. One of the most famous projects with Dmitry Brekotkin’s participation was the South Butovo improvisation show, which started in September 2009 (the last issue was released in autumn 2010). The main roles in this program were played by Dmitry and his colleague in the Ural Dumplings Sergey Svetlakov . Also in the project were Timur Batrutdinov , Vera Brezhneva , Andrey Rozhkov , Alisa Grebenshchikova and other artists. Brekotkin said about the show “Southern Butovo”: “A big role in my appearance in this project was played by my KVN teammate Seryoga Svetlakov. On his initiative, they took me to the test, and I am grateful to him for this. On set I experience a huge buzz. You can joke as you want, but you also get paid for it! And once again I praise Svetlakov. He was the youngest in the Ural dumplings, but he grew faster than anyone in the acting plan. Like bamboo. "

From August 2013 to December 2014 he was an advertising person for the Tricolor TV satellite operator. In 2017, he was also the advertising person for the 35 chocolate bar.

Personal life

December 23, 1995, the artist married. Dmitry met his wife Ekaterina in a student construction team. They raise two daughters: Anastasia (1997) and Elizabeth (2004) [1] .

In May 2017, divorced. Married, has a child in a civil marriage.
