Biography
Club career
Pupil of Dnepropetrovsk sport interneer. In Dnipro he made his debut in 1990 in a match with Spartak . A total of 11 matches played for Dnipro in the USSR Championships.
In December 1994, after Nikolai Pavlov left Dnipro, Konovalov moved to Dynamo Kyiv . Because of injuries, he performed a little, was not trusted by trainer Jozsef Szabo .
In 1996-98, he leased in South Korea for the Pohang Steelers Club. Together with the club twice (1997, 1998) won the Asian Champions Cup .
Returning to Kiev, he continued performances for Dynamo. However, after some time, was in duplicate Kiev. He rented out several times: first in Dnipro, and in the 2001/02 season with Dmitry Mikhaylenko - in Jerusalem Betar . The team was threatened with departure from the top division, but thanks to the efforts of the legionaries, the club managed to avoid a drop in class. In 2002, his contract from Kiev “Dynamo” bought Kiev “ Arsenal ” [1] . Later he played for FC Borysfen, Chinese Qingdao Zhongnen and Azerbaijani Inter.
Career in the national team
He played 22 matches for the national team of Ukraine and scored three goals.
Coaching career
From July 2011 until the liquidation of the club Konovalov was an assistant to the head coach of the Sevastopol club. From November 27, 2013 to January 15, 2014 - Acting head coach of the club "Sevastopol".
