Andhra Pradesh ( Telugu ప్రదేశ్ , “Andhra Region”, hndhra Prādesh IAST , Urdu ندھرا ردیش , Hindi प्रदेश , English Andhra Pradesh ) is one of the 29 states in India , located along the south-east coast of the country. The capital is Hyderabad . Andhra is the name of the people who lived here at the beginning of our era.

Content
Geography
The area is 275,069 km² (4th place). The state occupies the eastern part of the Deccan Plateau and the plains east of the Eastern Ghats . The Eastern Ghats cross Andhra Pradesh from north to south and are divided into two parts, covered with tropical forests. On the plateau Dean, vegetation is more sparse, represented by shrubs. The west and southwest of the state has a more arid climate. Coastal plains are a major agricultural region. The climate greatly depends on the region, the monsoons affect the entire territory of the state. Temperatures on the eastern plains are usually slightly higher than other areas.
The main rivers are the Godavari , Krishna , Pennar and Tungabhadra .
History
On October 1, 1956, the state of Andhra was separated from the state of Madras . The state was the result of a struggle to protect the interests of the tele-speaking population of the state of Madras. The capital of the state of Andhra became the city of Karnul [1]
The State Restructuring Commission recommended that Hyderabad be maintained as an independent administrative unit, but on November 1, 1956, as a result of a gentlemen's agreement , Andhra Pradesh was formed as a result of the merger of Andhra with the telephone part of Hyderabad [2] . The capital of the new state was Hyderabad . The Maratha-speaking part of Hyderabad was merged with the state of Bombay , the Kanad-language part with the state of Mysore .
Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014
On February 14, 2014, the Parliament of India approved a bill on the reorganization of the state of Andhra Pradesh through the separation from its composition of 10 districts that formed the new state - Telingana [3] . On June 2, 2014, after the approval of the President of India, the law came into force: the state of Telingana became the 29th state of India [4] [5] [6] . Hyderabad currently serves as the capital of both states [7] .
Policy
In the 2004 state assembly elections held in parallel with the Lok Sabhu elections, the Indian National Congress won a convincing victory over the previously ruled regional party Telugu Desam (ally of Bharatiya Janata Party of the National Democratic Alliance) led by Chandrabubu Naidu . Executive power in the state is in the hands of the Chief Minister.
In 1991-96, the Prime Minister of India was a native of Pamulaparti State Venkata Narasimha Rao (INC), a Telugu nationality.
Population
The official language of the state is Telugu ; 83% of the population speak it. Other languages include: Urdu (8.63%), Hindi (3.23%), Tamil (1.01%), Marathi (0.8%), Kannada (0.74%), Oriya (0.44 %), Malayalam (0.08%) [8] . Telugu - the main ethnic group of Andhra Pradesh, belongs to the Dravidians .
88.3% of the state’s population are Hindus (the Vishnu cult), 9.16% are Muslim, 1.7% are Christian.
In 6 cities of the state, the population exceeds 1 million inhabitants, in a number of cities the population is approaching this threshold. Below is a list of the largest cities in the state as of 2007-2010.

Economy
The main source of income for the state economy is agriculture. The main crops are rice, sugarcane, cotton, red pepper, mango and tobacco. Rivers are actively used for irrigation, there are a number of irrigation projects, some of which are already in the development stage.
Service occupies 43% of state GDP and 20% of all jobs.
Andhra Pradesh is the second largest mineral wealth in India. Here is a third of all Indian limestone reserves, which are estimated at almost 20 billion tons. There are also large deposits of natural gas and coal.
Recently, the IT industry has been developing at a fast pace; in 2006–2007, the staff exported 14% of all Indian software and ranked fourth in the country by this indicator. The pharmaceutical industry is well developed in Hyderabad.
Transportation
The state highway network is 146,944 km. The state's main public transport company, APSRTC ( Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation ), is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest bus operator in the world. Buses link all cities and most rural areas of Andhra Pradesh.
The state railways belong to the south-central and eastern coastal zones of Indian railways.
Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad Airport is the largest in the state and one of the busiest in India. There are also airports in the cities: Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Tirupati. Major ports are in the cities of Visakhapatnam and Kakinada.
Culture
Most of the state’s population are Vaisnavas . Sampradaya Ramanuji has a very big influence in the state - most of the temples of the state are traditionally supported by the Brahmins of Sri sampraday . Therefore, on the walls of the temples you can see the characteristic symbol of this sampraday, which played a revolutionary role in the development of Hinduism - tilak in the form of the foot of Vishnu , but not narrow, as is customary in the Gaudiya sampraday , but a wider one. In the temples of the Ramanuja-sampradai, they usually refer warmly to Western Vaisnavas. The state has a lot of Saivites . There are also places in the state that are sacred to Buddhists and are inhabited by Buddhists. The capital of the state of Hyderabad was for a long time the capital of a Muslim state and there are so many Muslims in it that after India gained independence it was even said that Hyderabad, like Pakistan and Bangladesh , would become part of a Muslim state.
Attractions
The state has many religious and pilgrimage sites. The Tirumala Venkateshvara temple in the city of Tirumala , Chittur district is an important pilgrimage site for Indians from all over India. Another important place is the Simkhachalam temple, located on a hill 20 km north of Visakhapatnam.
The Indian cosmodrome Sriharikota is located on the eponymous island belonging to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Education
Andhra Pradesh has more than 20 universities.
