Podosinki is a military-chemical testing ground used in 1926-1927. as part of the German " Tomka facility" in the USSR . Located in the suburbs , near the railway station Podosinki . Later, the tests were moved to the Saratov region, to the Tomka training ground.
The name has little relation to the actual location of the landfill, since only 3 dachas, where German specialists lived, were located in Podosinki. Also, in the Podosinki-Ukhtomskaya area, an airfield was located, shortly before these events, it was transferred to VOKHIMU to service work at the training ground. The tests themselves took place at the military chemical training ground in Kuzminki, created back in 1918 [1] .
In 1926, 43 flights took place over the landfill simulating a spill from a mustard gas plane (only an imitation, since German mustard was not brought to the USSR yet, and the existence of the Soviet was not advertised to the German allies). The tests were successful, so in 1927 the training ground was expanded and began to have an area of 9-11 km².
The landfill infrastructure has been expanded. Only playgrounds were designed for 300 children. The troops who came to participate in the parades on May 1 and November 7 stopped at the training ground. For them, a mock-up of Red Square was built every time at the training ground.
The landfill lasted from 1918 to 1961-1962.
