Biography
Maya's father at the time of her birth was at the front, went through the whole Great Patriotic War and the war with Japan. Lived in Mongolia, in Ulan Bator . Training began only after 2 years. Maya worked as a tower crane operator, graduated from the 10th grade of the school for working youth.
In May 1959, made the first jump. In 1961, the opportunity to engage in glider sports. Fulfilled the program of the first year of study, but the dream of becoming a pilot was not resting From the flying club she was sent to study at the Saransk Summer School of Instructors. There, Maya was fascinated by parachute competitions.
The first serious success came in 1963 . She made her debut at the All-Union competition in Volchansk (Ukraine), where she won the first bronze medal in life for acrobatics in the sky.
