History
Uganda is one of the strongest teams in East and Central Africa in history . At the beginning of the 21st century, the national team is a strong middle peasant in African football . “Cranes” have never taken part in the World Cup , and 5 times participated in the final stages of the Africa Cup . The national team flourished in the second half of the 70s, when Ugandans were selected for the largest continental forum three times in a row and reached the final in 1978, losing to the hosts of the tournament - the national team of Ghana - with a score of 0: 2. The Silver of 1978 is still the highest achievement of the Uganda team, and the 1978 African Cup is the last major tournament that the Cranes managed to qualify for.
