History
The club was created in 1973 on the basis of the existing team “Molodist”. He first made his way to the elite of Soviet basketball in 1979 , after having played for two years he dropped a class lower. In 1992, the second debut of the team in the Highest League and for the year 5 place, the best achievement of the club in its history. Then the team rushed between Super League A and Super League B. From 2004 to 2008 he performed in the Super League A , the best result was 9th place. In 2008 I flew to Super League B (now the tournament is called Super League ). At the end of the season in the Super League, the team took the 2nd place and could declare in PBL for the 2010/11 season, but on June 26, 2010, Rostelecom shareholders decided to reorganize Rostelecom in the form of joining open joint stock companies, including Sibirtelecom OJSC. [1] As a result, the club lost its main sponsor, who covered 50-60 percent of the budget. A number of fateful decisions were made: stay in the Russian Basketball Super League, dissolve the first team (8 players went to other clubs), the team's base consists of young students of the club and student basketball. During the season, the team constantly struggled with an acute shortage of money for wages and even for home matches. On December 15, 2010, at a press conference, the club management notified journalists that the team had told the RFB about the possible withdrawal of the team from the Russian championship. [2] . The feverish search for sponsors made it possible to finish the season in the Super League in 9th place.
