Vetrino ( Belor. Vetryna ) is an urban village (until 1958 it was a village) [2] in the Polotsk region of the Vitebsk region of Belarus . It is located 22 km south-west of Polotsk on the P45 highway ( Polotsk - Glubokoe - Lithuanian border). The population is 2220 people (as of January 1, 2016) [1] .

History
In the middle of the 16th century, Vetrino was listed as a place in the Polotsk Voivodeship of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania .
After the 2nd division of the Commonwealth ( 1793 ) as part of the Russian Empire . It was the center of the Lepel County parish.
In 1924-1931 and 1935-1960, Vetrino was the center of the Vetrinsky district .
Since January 20, 1960 - as part of the Polotsk region.
