Content

Early years

Vladimir started with a yard football. In 1966, as part of a team of the district, he participated in the Republican tournament for the prize of the Leather Ball club, where, together with the team, he became the champion of the republic and was recognized as the best striker, then in the national team of Georgia at the All-Union tournament he took the third place for the attackers, in the same year he entered the Junior Dynamo youth sports school, where he studied for 3 years. In the autumn of 1969, he moved to the FSM of the city of Tbilisi , where, however, he did not study for long and a year later, in the fall of 1970, he went on to the double of Dynamo Tbilisi [3] .

Career

Club

Already at the age of 19, in the autumn of 1971, for the first time came out in the main line-up of Dynamo Tb in a home match against Lviv Karpat . In his 2 nd match against Zenit, he scored the 1st goal in his career. For Dynamo, TB subsequently performed until the end of his playing career in 1986, playing 303 matches during that time and scoring 47 goals against his opponents, and became the champion of the USSR , twice the winner of the USSR Cup and the UEFA Cup Winners Cup .

In 1982 and 1985, he had 2 operations on the meniscus, after which he had already played less brightly.

As a footballer, he was known not only for his high-tech handling of the ball, but also for his ability to “substitute” in the opponent's penalty area and thereby earn a penalty [4] .

Game Style

One of the brightest and most distinctive players of the 70s national football. Individually strong, he was distinguished by excellent dribbling, rapid starting jerk. He could single-handedly, demonstrating cascades of various tricks, to devour the defense of his rivals.

In the national team

As part of the main national team of the USSR, he debuted on March 29, 1972 in a friendly match with the Bulgarian national team , and last entered the field as a member of the national team on March 10, 1982 in a friendly match with the Greek national team . In total, he played 11 matches for the first national team and scored 1 goal on October 5, 1978 against the Turkish national team . In addition, on May 25, 1972, he played one match for the USSR Olympic team in the qualifying tournament for the XX Summer Olympics in the second match against the French team [3] .

Career Coach and Functional

After completing his playing career, he switched to administrative work, from 1987 to mid-1991, he was the head of the team in his hometown Dinamo Tbilisi, in 1991 he left for Cyprus , where he began his coaching career, first as an assistant, and then, in the same year, and as the head coach of the Anorthosis club, which he led until 1994.

In 1994, he became the head of the team at Spartak-Alania , who next year became the champion of Russia . In honor of the victory, Gutsaev was given a Mercedes by the club management [3] .

In 1996 he headed the youth team of Georgia, with which he worked quite successfully. Due to this, in 1997 he was appointed head coach of the first Georgian national team , with which he worked until April 1999.

Then he headed "Alania", with which he worked until 2000. In 2001, he worked as a director in Torpedo Kutaisi .

In 2004-2008 he was a member of the Georgian parliament. He returned to big football in 2009, completed a course in Kiev , received a UEFA PRO category license [6] .

In 2010–2011 he headed the youth team of Georgia under 19 years old [7] . In 2011–2012, he worked as head coach of the youth team at WIT Georgia [8] .

In October 2012, he returned to Alania in Vladikavkaz, was appointed to the position of sports director [9] .

Socio-political activities

In March 2004, Vladimir Gutsayev was elected to the Parliament of Georgia on the list of the United National Movement party of Mikhail Saakashvili, was a deputy for four years. He was a member of the parliamentary committee on education, science, culture and sports [2] . In July 2004, the leader of the breakaway South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity, accused Gutsayev of offering him $ 20 million in exchange for "loyalty" to the Georgian government. Gutsayev rejected Kokoity’s claims as an attempt to “score political points” and said that his only mission in Kokoity was to convince him to allow the South Ossetian team to take part in the national championship of Georgia [10] .
