Trubetskoy, Andrey Vasilyevich

Prince Andrei Vasilyevich Trubetskoy ( XVI century - 1612 ) - the boyar and voivode of the XVI century , the last representative of the oldest branch of the princes Trubetskoy . The only son of the governor of the Bryansk prince Vasily Andreyevich Trubetskoy (died 1561 ). He took part in the affairs of the Time of Troubles , was a member of the Seven Boyars ( 1610 - 1612 ).

Biography

Date of birth is not known. Entered military service in 1573 , in 1574 commanded the Moscow detachment of troops near Serpukhov .

In the summer of 1577, Andrei Vasilyevich Trubetskoy took part in the successful Livonian campaign of the Russian army under the command of Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich the Terrible . In 1579, by painting, he was told to sleep near the sovereign. In 1580 he attended the wedding of Ivan the Terrible with Maria Nagaya, was the first among the riders. During the war with Stefan Batory, he lifted the siege from Pskov .

In 1584, after the death of Ivan the Terrible and the accession of his son Fedor, Andrei Vasilyevich Trubetskoy was sent to the border guard service in Tula . In 1589 he was appointed stolnik. In 1590, Prince Andrei Trubetskoy participated in the war with the Swedes . In 1597 he received the rank of okolnichy.

He was a voivod in Tula , Novgorod-Seversk , Novgorod and Smolensk .

In 1598, after the accession of Boris Fedorovich Godunov, Prince Andrei Vasilyevich Trubetskoy received the boyars. He took part in the diplomatic negotiations - he was entrusted with the conclusion of a marriage between Ksenia Godunova and the Danish Prince John .

He enjoyed a great location of the kings of Ivan the Terrible , Theodore Ivanovich , Boris Godunov and Vasily Shuisky . After overthrowing the latter was part of the Seven Boyars . Died around 1612 .
