PJSC "Abakanvagonmash" - an enterprise for the production of wagons and large containers , located in the city of Abakan ( Khakassia ). It is part of the Russian Machines holding, created to manage the basic assets of the Basic Element owned by Oleg Deripaska .

The company was founded in 1976 . Is the only one in the Russian Federation by a manufacturer of large-capacity containers of various modifications. Since putting into operation, the company has produced more than a million containers that are used in 35 countries, including the USA, Germany, Norway, Finland, Belgium and other countries.

Today, the design capacity is 2 thousand special platforms and 20 thousand universal and special containers per year. Large containers, fitting platforms , spare parts for rolling stock are produced. Due to the flexibility of production, the plant can quickly respond to changes in market conditions and produce items that are most in demand by customers.

Among the clients of the enterprise are Russian Railways OJSC , Ministry of Defense , EMERCOM of Russia , Norilsk Nickel OJSC, Severstal PJSC, Transcontainer PJSC, Togliattiazot OJSC, Alrosa PJSC and other companies.

The main stages of enterprise development

  • 1970 - Start of construction of a car-building complex with a design capacity of 40 thousand containers per year .
  • 1974 - The construction of a container plant for the production of large-capacity universal metal containers began.
  • 1975 - The first production facilities were commissioned.
  • 1976 - February 20, 1976 acceptance of the first platform for heavy containers.
  • 1977 - The Abakanvagonmash production association was established, and production facilities for the production of 1000 platforms were commissioned. The Abakan platform container ship received an honorary diploma at the railway exhibition-77 international exhibition in Moscow.
  • 1978 - The first container was made . Awarded the State Quality Mark platform.
  • 1981 - Capacities for the production of large-capacity universal metal containers were commissioned ; carbon dioxide station. The Abakan heavy container was awarded the State Quality Mark .
  • 1982 - Own TPP was commissioned.
  • 1984 - The State Quality Mark was reassigned to the universal large-capacity container of type 1C.
  • 1992 - The Production Association “Abakanvagonmash” was transformed by the State Enterprise “Abakanvagonmash”, and from December 5, 1992 into the Open Joint-Stock Company “Abakanvagonmash”.
  • 1997 - The open joint-stock company "Abakanvagonmash" was transformed into the Open joint-stock company "Abakanvagonmash".
  • 2001 - A branch of the company was opened in the city of St. Petersburg.
  • 2016 - The Abakanvagonmash Open Joint Stock Company was transformed into the Abakanvagonmash Public Joint Stock Company

On September 17, 2013, the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Khakassia accepted the application for production of OJSC Khakasenergosbyt, Altai LLC Karmet-Group, and the Abakan municipal unitary enterprise Vodokanal regarding the bankruptcy of OJSC Abakanvagonmash. The company was deprived of state support, however, it is negotiating with the government of Khakassia on a project to create a production of railway equipment. [four]
