The women's biathlon race at the 2010 Winter Olympics was held on February 16th . The race took place in Whistler's Olympic Park from 10:30 to 11:30 local time ( UTC-8 ).

Magdalena Neuner and Anastasia Kuzmina , who started almost simultaneously, were shot at the first frontier without errors. On the second line, Neuner again shot without errors, and Kuzmina made one mistake and went into the penalty loop. Meanwhile, after the first shooting, a large group of athletes formed, 30-40 seconds behind the leaders. On the second line, only Marie-Lor Bruyne and Thea Gregorin shot without errors and fled 40 and 50 seconds behind Neuner. At the third firing line, Neuner and Kuzmina missed, Brunet shot cleanly and approached Kuzmina, and Gregorin missed and lost the chance of medals, as she was significantly slower on the track than the leaders. Finally, at the last shooting, Neuner missed, and Kuzmina and Brune shot without a miss. After the last shooting, Kuzmina was six seconds behind Neuner, and Brunet was behind Kuzmina by another six seconds. Since Neuner was faster than Kuzmina on the ski track, and Kuzmina faster than Brune, this arrangement remained until the finish line, and Magdalena Neuner became the Olympic champion for the first time. Marie-Lor Brunet won her first Olympic medal.
At the second starting gate, the judge delayed the start of Anna Karin Olofsson-Zidek (No. 20), Vali Semerenko (No. 23) and Simone Hauswald (No. 26). After the race, according to the finish protocol, these athletes were reduced by 14, 7 and 7 seconds, respectively.
At the second shooting, Anna Bulygina lost a lot of time, not having sent a clip and having made two blank shots. [one]
