Owners and management

Genser shareholders in January 2010 were the heirs of the former chairman of the board of directors of the company Igor Ponomarev (he died on January 19, 2010 after a long illness) and Vladimir Pronin (chairman of the board) - in total, they owned 51% of the company. 28% of the company was controlled by Volga River fund, 21% - by Solway Investment fund. Activities

Genser is the official dealer of the brands BMW , Nissan , Datsun , Infiniti , Chevrolet , Renault , Opel , Cadillac , Mazda , Hyundai , Jeep , Toyota , Mercedes-Benz , Mitsubishi , Volkswagen , Volvo and UAZ .

In 2005, Genser launched a large-scale regional program to create a network of branded auto centers in various cities of Russia. Sixteen Genser centers representing the brands Nissan, Chevrolet, Opel, Ford, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover, Toyota, BMW, Mitsubishi and UAZ operate in Belgorod, Kaluga, Lipetsk and Kotlas. The company's revenue in 2008, according to AutoBusinessReview magazine, amounted to about $ 1.5 billion [1] .

In 2011, it was reported that Genser could conduct an IPO in London [3] . The company was ranked among the 100 largest private companies in the country [4] and was one of the five largest car dealers in Russia [3] .

In 2016, Genser sold 26 thousand cars worth about 46 billion rubles and was ranked 8th-9th in sales in the country. At the beginning of 2017, the company had 45 auto centers, but by the end of the year it closed 6 of them [5] . In 2017, about 10 thousand cars were sold [6] .

In 2018, the media reported that the co-owners of the company were looking for ways to save from bankruptcy [5] [7] . Car sales of most companies were discontinued, only after-sales service was preserved [6] .
